Costumer Reviews
This prduct was purchased for my parents and I have been incredibly impressed with its simplicty having heard some critiques say how complex it was compared to Sky+ (which I have).
Set-up is uncomplicated with every thing automated, the only factor you have to have to do is insert your postcode for regional viewing settings.
I would say it is slightly much more complicated than Sky+ in that you shop all series linked (or multiples of each and every programme) in separated folders (as you would on a Computer) but anybody who has ever used a pc or read the instructions will choose it up right away.
Image excellent in SD is at least as great as Sky SD and the freesat HD channels look wonderful (pity you only have 3 at present). Both my parents and myself reside in a weak freeview signal region so the reassurance of no picture drop out was the most important purpose for freesat rather than freeview.
With most new HD TV's now getting only a freeview HD receiver (except Panasonic), this box provides you the ability to see the complete range of cost-free channels out there with the capability to record every little thing on freesat. Freesat has the vast majority of channels most men and women would want to record (incuding HD when offered) but some channels are only on freeview or freesat not each - see their web-sites and check which ones you are most most likely to record!
This Humax box lets you pause reside Television, watch 1 channel although recording another and series link, pretty significantly every little thing you can do with Sky+ except you do not spend £26+ per month for undertaking it!
It does demand x2 LNB cables to do this which could mean a new dish if you only have a single cable coming off an old Sky dish (as in our case) but this cost including installation was only a one off £120.
This box is also capable of viewing BBC i-player as long as you have broadband and an ethernet cable connected to it (ITV on demand coming soon).
All in all a excellent package at a affordable cost.
I purchased this sat box and cancelled sky HD and second space all solutions that was costing £71 per month. The selection of programmes and quality more than the satelite are a lot more than sufficient. The quit, pause, rewind, television is dead uncomplicated to use and the record solution from the on-screen guide is as simple as the sky one particular was.
If you have sky, kick it into touch and grab your self one of these, it will spend for itself in three monts
