Enter the Planet of 3D

Be Captivated By NeoPlasma

Panasonic is taking tv to the next level with the new VIERA NeoPlasma Television line-up, which delivers brilliant picture top quality in Complete HD 2D and 3D. Never ever miss a detail when watching movies, sports or playing the most up-to-date games. With NeoPlasma, you can always be sure to get the most effective picture top quality.

Brilliant Motion Clarity with 600Hz Sub-field Drive

The 600Hz sub-field drive in mixture with the newly created Rapidly Switching Phosphors provides crisp clear moving photos. This exceptional image-analysis technology converts the motion in each and every scene into data for more rapidly display of frame pictures compared to previous 600Hz systems.

The UK broadcast method is sent at the rate of 50 frames per second (50Hz), so each second of watching, 50 pictures are sent to the Television. Each of the 50 frames consists of sub-field pictures based on the brightness tonal characteristics of a image in a frame.

With VIERA Plasma Television with 600Hz sub-field drive, up to 12 sub-field images per frame are displayed. It is said that the higher the quantity of subfields the higher the colour is the smoother the picture is. This is why our 600Hz program delivers wealthy colour and smooth motion pictures.

When the Cinema mode is selected.

Active Shutter Glasses

When you watch 3D on a Tv, even a slight blur can negatively affect the level of immersion. To get the most beneficial 3D picture quality achievable, Panasonic employs Active Shutter Glasses (not included) which are synchronised to the frame sequential driving of the Tv. With this technology the viewer enjoys a cinema-like resolution of 1920 x 1080 for every single eye. Viewers can then delight in a gripping 3D encounter with no resolution and viewing angle deterioration.

Very precise timing control for the opening closing of the shutters minimises unwanted light leakage (minimising shading ratio of more than 1/1000) to enable clear 3D viewing. Each shutters on the 3D Eyewear close fully throughout the short gap among the appropriate left plasma signal emission to match the luminescence characteristics of the plasma display.

Clear 3D Pictures

New phosphor technology prevents crosstalk in 3D - The use of new quickly switching phosphors has considerably lowered the afterglow time. The emission time and course of action have also been enhanced to minimise mutual interference of the frames for the left and suitable-eye images to significantly cut down crosstalk. The resulting 3D pictures are quite high in good quality.

Deeper Blacks Higher Contrast

In new VIERA models, contrast and black levels have been considerably enhanced specially in bright surroundings. Enhancements to the panel and cells support reproduce images with smooth, all-natural gradation and deep, wealthy blacks. In films, the accurate, deep blacks faithfully convey the intent of the filmmakers, adding power and realism to the viewing knowledge.

Costumer Reviews

This is my initially Panasonic Television (or 3D Tv for that matter) and I've been particularly impressed with it. Having done a fair quantity of analysis on 3D Tv's this seemed like an economical alternative. This is the 2nd generation 3D Tv that Panasonic have come out with as far as I know and there are improvements - the initially generation are VT20's or GL20's. The principal distinction as far as I am aware to the older versions are that Panasonic have developed technologies to reduce crosstalk which occurs when you are viewing material in 3D and it is not looking fairly like it need to (every single active pair of glasses essentially show separate pictures to every single eye generating it appear as although one thing is in 3D but fails to happen correctly throughout crosstalk).

This ST30 model is missing DNLA (which makes it possible for for less complicated and greater networking with your other multimedia items in your household, and far better looks from it really is alot more high priced brothers GT30 and VT30. It also has more rapidly-switching phosphors, lowered energy consumption and a new screen filter.

Out of the box

When you get your brand new shiny 3d Television, the initially factor you will need to have to do is attach the base stand to the actual Television. You can do this on your own but is a small tricky. There is a forked prong that fits into the base and you screw this in but make sure that you look for the black plastic cover before you attach it to the Television which was located separately at the bottom of the box with mine. The Tv then slots onto the forks and you screw this on. The Tv can then swivel on it is stand to about 35 degrees either way from straight ahead .Unlike the Panasonic flagship the ST does not come with any 3D glasses so you will have to order your own. I've got the Panasonic TY-ew3D2ME Rechargeable Active Shutter 3D Glasses for GT and VT Plasma Range - Medium which function perfectly.

Setting up

The initial auto set up attempts to connect to online right away so ensure you have either your ethernet cable in or alternatively you can connect wirelessley (i connected through ethernet cable so haven't tried wireless connection but. After this the Television searches for analogue channels.

Looks

The Television looks really good even though those of you that like sleeker styles could want to view picture differences to the GL or VT versions which have alot more elegant frame but this did not bother me. I identified it odd that the 2d-3d conversion is only currently located on the remote control. Talking about the remote control it is not particularly nice lookikng or sleek and has a pretty tacky silver plastic feel to it. This doesn't bother me once more but those of you who are ultra image concious can want to stay away from this model. There are 4 HDMI slots, a component connections, SD card slot for instant viewing of images from your camera and USB connections for charging. I've nevertheless got to attempt connecting an external hard drive to see if I can record content material and playback but I'm not sute if it's capable of this.

There is no Pc connection but this doesn't bother me and I've heard that plasma tv's are not great for computer use anyway.

Picture top quality

The image top quality is especially clear and vivid with a small tweaking with contrast, brightness etc. The hd content material certainly shines (we have virgin and could upgrade to make sure we get as a lot hd channels as probable now). We watched the original clash of the titans in hd and the superior was totally superb

Use

The default when turning on is analogue television but you can adjust this to AV. As we have all our connections on AV channels , virgin hdmi, ps3 xbox360, apple television.

3d use

As I mentioned earlier this version has better screen compared to 20 version which reduces cross talk when viewing 3d. Those who do not currently know and haven't tested at their local Currys/pc world 2d-3d conversion just gives depth to the picture, so don't expect issues to jump out at you as this will only occur with 3d particular content. Playing on my Xbox360 is reasonable making use of 2d-3d conversion- I tried Call of Duty black ops on the Xbox which was terrific - in case you didn't know you can go to choices and pick to use Stereoscopic 3D. Some parts of menu are a great deal more of course layered and gameplay is particularly superior in 3D though you will need to get put to use to the new perspective for aiming.. I watched 3d tron, Legend of the Guardians to test 3d appropriately which was just as beneficial as 3d at the cinema. I've not tried 3d on ps3 gaming however but there are titles out there that supprt 3d like revamped Batman Arkham Asylum. I updated my ps3 to view 3d bluray - do this by going into "display settingsvideo output settings" then set up the HDMI view and Voila, it should certainly say that it now set up for 3D bluray movies.

Viera cast on line facilities

One particular thing that you will need to note about web based facilities - don't anticipate too considerably. There are limited fundamental applications like facebook, flickr, simple games like chess, youtube, video internet movies only through Acetrak (don't anticipate to be in a position to view regular web pages or LoveFilm) considering there is not something like Safari or Web explorer. Acetrak and one or two other apps are the only via the internet video rental apps obtainable which is disappointing. You will have to join and costs are comparable to virgin on demand. If you have an alternative like apple television like I do, I would advise you to stick to this. If you don't have any rental services like Sky or Virgin, Acetrax is a handy alternative. Viera cast isn't great to navigate as there are 8 apps per page and no way of rearranging them which is frustrating as i just will not use some. It's in it's infant stage at the moment and I hope that Panasonic will take time to develop this region.

All in all this is a superb Television for the cost and is packed with lots of terrific capabilities. It does miss out on capabilities that the GT or VT models have like DNLA networking etc but to me these aren't desperately necessary. To some it may perhaps seem clunky but to me it looks fashionable. It is rather thin and the superior of image is brilliant no matter whether on Television, Xbox360 or PS3. I'm honestly glad with it and that I did not have to obtain a further 3D bluray player as my PS3 was able to play 3D content with a software package update and display setting tweak. Worth a appear but do some added evaluation investigation.

UPDATE

I've lately tried connecting a tough drive directly to the Tv through the USB port and you can carry out slideshows of photos to music (default music is Panasonic's own but you can choose a folder or file on the challenging disc to play too). You can also play video content material on your Challenging disc straight while the file formats are restricted (i've only successfully played H.264 format which is the format of video for Apple Television/Iphone/Ipod and so on and did not like .mov files)

I have both a LCD television and this panasonic plasma! This plasma tv is better picture top quality than the LCD considering that of its deep wealthy colours and incredible definition also this tv has impressive attributes. I was searching at this and the model above it but it wasnt worth paying about £300 for the model above that only has a couple of added features like freesat which i wont use and also dnla laptop connecting thingy. The only reason i dont advise this television for a bedroom is that it can make a incredibly slight buzzing on standby and if ur in a bedroom it would drive me crazy. Perfect for a lounge as you wont notice it there. Perfect television i have ever purchased, completely remarkable. I bought mine from comet who are at the moment carrying out a deal on this television for £500 with 2 free pairs of 3d glasses and a half price wifi dongle which is a Have to to have with this telly as the viera cast functions with world wide web are Awesome Extremely suggest this tv and take my critique as truth considering im a perfectionist when it comes to this stuff and i researched thouroughly before buying. Go to comet...
